Embracing the BYOD Trend

Soumya Das of SecureAuth
Organizations in all industries can embrace the bring-your-own-device trend if they take adequate steps to authenticate mobile users, says Soumya Das of SecureAuth.

"BYOD is here to stay," Das says. "Mobile is the way the world is going. ... So take your policies and embrace this boom and try to gain efficiency through mobile devices."

Risk-based authentication, coupled with single sign-on, can help organizations cope with risk as the use of mobile devices continues to increase, Das says.

In an interview at RSA Conference 2013, Das:

  • Describes why mobile device management systems aren't always the best solution when accommodating BYOD;
  • Outlines a risk-based approach to authentication;
  • Discusses authentication and single sign-on for mobile, cloud and web access.

Das is chief marketing officer for SecureAuth and works closely with the SecureAuth team of technical experts to communicate the need for stronger yet flexible identity governance solutions and policies.
