One of the effective ways to tackle AML fraud is to leverage technologies such as behavioral biometrics and device biometrics, says Charles Subrt, director of the fraud and AML practice at Aite-Novarica Group.

"From onboarding and know-your-customer practices, we are seeing new techniques. Behavioral biometrics is a key piece in terms of being able to not only ease the friction in terms of customer experience but also to be able to distinguish between good customers and bad customers by looking at their behavior," he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Subrt also discusses:

  • The latest trends in the AML fraud space;
  • Tools and technologies to leverage to tackle AML fraud;
  • How fraud and AML teams can work together.

Subrt is the director for Aite-Novarica Group’s fraud and AML practice. He has more than 20 years of legal and compliance experience and deep expertise in advising business leaders, driving change and establishing strong, self-sustaining AML and financial crime compliance and risk management programs at a global financial services company. Prior to joining Aite-Novarica Group, Subrt led multiple compliance functions for Sun Life Financial, where he delivered strategic and thought leadership and instilled vibrant risk management practices.
