Cybersecurity: Whose Job Is It?

CrowdStrike's Shawn Henry on Why the Buck Stops at the CEO's Door
Cybersecurity: Whose Job Is It?

Cyber threat intelligence is about information sharing internally as well as externally. But most organizations are still doing poor jobs of adequately communicating threat information within their own organizations. What's more, too many C-level executives are not aware of the cyber threats facing their businesses, and few have good insights about the technologies and strategies their own companies are implementing to mitigate emerging risks.

In an interview recorded at RSA Conference 2015, Shawn Henry of CrowdStrike discusses:

  • Why the private sector still fails to communicate threat intelligence with law enforcement;
  • How CEOs are making decisions based on yesterday's threats;
  • Ways business can start to practice what they preach about information sharing.

Henry, who left the FBI in March 2012, is now the president of cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. While at the FBI, he oversaw international computer crime investigations involving DDoS attacks, bank and corporate breaches and state-sponsored intrusions. Over the course of his 24-year career, Henry worked in three FBI field offices, as well as in the bureau's headquarters. He oversaw the posting of FBI cyber-experts in police agencies around the world, including the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine and Estonia.
